RE:Worlds TT

The Worlds TT was today.  Nate had a very good day and finished 12th 1:12 down from the Polish kid that won today.  Phinney was third.  The wind was really blowing today at around 25-30 mph.  He rode a very consistent race Ben Sharpe (USA Team Manager) was very proud of Nate and said he rode a very good race.  For his first Worlds that is very good.  The USA would of had all three team members in the top 15, but poor Adam L broke a der cable two minutes before the start of his race.  I felt so bad for him.  Nate is feeling good and is ready for the Road race on Sunday.  I’m very confident for the road race that he should have a good race.  Today was as always very stressful for Dad, but at the end I was very proud of him and he rode a very good race.

RE:WE made it

We made it to South Africa yesterday late on KLM.  Today the weather was great.  We are staying one block from the beach and it was so nice walking along the beach today.  We were able to see Nathan today, and I am currently at his hotel since he has free internet.  He is relaxed tonight and ready for tomorrow.  They rode the TT course today, he said it will be windy and rolling which favors him.  We will see if he is recovered from Ireland, but he is relaxed tonight and just enjoying his time here.  His time tomorrow is 2 local time, so I will post as soon as I can tomorrow.  Stay tuned the fun begins.

We made it to Amsterdam

We left last night out of Memphis on Northwest, we were able to get First Class which makes the trip so much easier.  I was able to sleep some after dinner which has made it easier.  We are about ready to leave our hotel to go downtown and do the tourist thing.  This is the first time in Europe for Barb (my wife) and Jonny.  They have done great, tomorrow we are going to try and get on a KLM flight to Cape Town.  We’ll post from Cape Town hopefully.

Tour of Ireland

The tour of Ireland is in the record books.  You can go to www.irishcycling.com to see results pictures etc of the boys in Blue.  Hot Tubes ended the six day stage race with Simon in 3rd, Nathan in 7th, and Gavin in 9th.  Nathan took the Mountain Jersey from day one, and was two seconds out of the young riders jersey.  Over all a great week.

With that said we are waiting to board our flight to Amsterdam and then on Tuesday we are off to Cape Town.  Stay tuned we’ll keep you posted.
